The TV retailer’s new HD truck (at top rear) carries eight Sony HDC-1500 HD multiformat studio cameras, a Sony MVS-8000A production switcher and eight Sony PDW-F350 XDCAM HD camcorders.
QVC has rolled out a new HD production truck for remote production and broadcast. The new 53ft production vehicle completed the company’s inaugural project on Monday, July 24, in Aberdeen, MD, for a “Baseball Collectibles” program featuring baseball star Cal Ripken, Jr.
The truck carries eight Sony HDC-1500 HD multiformat studio cameras, a Sony MVS-8000A production switcher and eight Sony PDW-F350 XDCAM HD camcorders.
The XDCAM HD camcorders were chosen to add flexibility to live event productions, due to the camcorder's optical disc format, in-camera editing capabilities and immediate random access to thumbnail views of footage in the field, by using the camcorder’s LCD screen.
